Madhya Pradesh: Kamal Nath Cake Controversy Deepens; Congress Says BJP Is Unnerved

Bhopal: Congress leaders in Madhya Pradesh have called the Kamal Nath birthday cake controversy a political stunt. A video of Kamal Nath is going viral on social media in which Nath is seen cutting a temple-shaped cake. Although where the video is from, it has not been clear yet.

A statement has been issued by the Madhya Pradesh Congress Committee media department on Thursday. Senior leader KK Mishra said that BJP leaders have been unnerved by the success of senior Congress leader Rahul Gandhi's Bharat Jodo Yatra.

Mishra said even before the yatra in the state, Shivraj government and BJP leaders are issuing false statements to divert attention. Mishra said the cake was cut while the replica of the temple made of thermocol was kept separately. That's why the Chief Minister's statement of cutting down the temple is not only an insult to Hindu religion, but also an attempt to spread lies.

Woman who brought cake apologizes

Kirti Sudhanshu, who brought the cake for Kamal Nath, has apologized in this matter. In Chhindwara, Keerti Sudhanshu of KKF Foundation while apologizing said – We went to do something and did something else. We are hurt. We apologise. We unnecessarily created controversy for Saheb (Kamal Nath) and the people made it an issue. She further said that the mistake was not in our feelings, the mistake was in the making of the cake.

Insult to Sanatan tradition: CM

Earlier, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan had attacked Congress over the issue. He said the society will not accept this insult to Sanatan traditions.

Chouhan said the Congress has nothing to do with God. When the party felt that their votes would be lost for opposing the Ram temple, then they remembered Hanuman.

Chouhan said, 'Hanuman ji is made on the cake, isn't this an insult to the Sanatan tradition? This is an insult to Hindu religion, Sanatan tradition, which this society will not tolerate.’

BJP state president Vishnudutt Sharma has accused the Congress leadership of having an anti-Hindu mindset.

Sanskriti Bachao Manch protested

Meanwhile, Chandrashekhar Tiwari, president of Sanskriti Bachao Manch, has demanded a public apology from Kamal Nath. He said that those who call themselves Hanuman devotees are cutting the cake of Hanuman idol into pieces with a knife. This has hurt the beliefs of our Sanatan Dharma.
