T-20 World Cup 2022: KL Rahul Strikes Form In Match Against Bangladesh, Says We Have Really Worked Hard

Team India won a very important match against Bangladesh in the T20 World Cup on Wednesday. Now India is almost certain to reach the semi-finals.

Opener Lokesh Rahul failed in the first 3 matches of the World Cup. In these matches, he could not even touch the double digit mark even once. There was a demand to drop him from the playing-11, but coach Rahul Dravid and captain Rohit Sharma expressed confidence in the opener. Rahul returned to form against Bangladesh and made 50 off 32 balls. He hit 3 fours and 4 sixes.

We have really worked hard: "This was an important game for us. We all wanted to contribute. Today it was an opportunity for me to stand up and be counted. We have really worked hard and prepared ourselves for difficult situations. So that when the time comes, we can execute our plans in those difficult situations," Rahul said.

Besides, marked improvement was seen in India's fielding in match against Bangladesh. The Indian team had dropped 5 catches in its three matches of this World Cup. Many run out chances were also missed. The defeat against South Africa was due to poor catching and fielding.

Although Karthik dropped two catches in the beginning against Bangladesh too, but when the match resumed after rain, the fielders did not make any mistake. Surya took two good catches in the deep.

Deepak Hooda, who came as a substitute fielder, took the best catch of Shakib Al Hasan. Earlier, Rahul made Litton Das run out, who was batting aggressively through a direct throw from the boundary.

Talking about his sensational direct hit from the deep to dismiss the in-form Litton Das, he said: "We all train very hard on fielding. We work on our throwing and moving quickly. The ball came and I hit the stumps,"
