T-20 World Cup 2022: What Are India’s Strengths And Weaknesses In Semifinal Against England

Adelaide: The cricket teams of India and England will face each other in the semi-final of the T-20 World Cup in Adelaide on November 10.

The pitch of the Adelaide Oval ground has always been excellent for batting. The special thing is that the ground is really oval in shape, that is, it is difficult to hit sixes with straight shots. But the square boundary is small which the Indian batsmen will have to target. Big score is expected as the wicket is solid. The team batting first has the better win percentage in Adelaide's T-20 history.

Chief coach Rahul Dravid has clearly indicated that he will take a decision on the final 11 players considering the Adelaide wicket and weather conditions.

Surya and Kohli are mainstay of India’s batting

Suryakumar Yadav and Virat Kohli have proved to be the biggest strength of Team India in this World Cup. Surya's three half-centuries and 360-degree shots were not only the subject of discussion, but also played an important role in India's victory.

In the India-Pakistan and India-Bangladesh matches, Surya did not score much, but against South Africa he scored 68 runs in 40 balls. He remained unbeaten while batting against Zimbabwe and the Netherlands. He scored 51 off 25 balls against Netherlands and 61 off 25 balls against Zimbabwe. Similar big innings will be expected from this player in the semifinals as well.

Captain's form is an issue of worry

But the captain's form is an issue of worry. His scores as an opener in this tournament have been 4, 53, 15, 2 and 15 runs.

He hit a half century against the Netherlands in Sydney, but got a life early in the innings when rival team’s fielder dropped his catch. In matches against the big teams, he has looked particularly uncomfortable.

His opening partner KL Rahul has scored half-centuries in the last two out of five matches but his scores in the first three matches were also 4, 9 and 9 runs.

Kohli in amazing form

Till about 1 month ago, Virat Kohli was struggling with poor form. He scored a century against Afghanistan in the Asia Cup and after that the picture changed. In the first match of Super-12 in T-20 World Cup, Virat played an unbeaten and historic innings of 82 runs in 53 balls against Pakistan.

Arshdeep, Shami bowling brilliantly

Team India's fast bowling has been amazing in this World Cup. Along with Arshdeep Singh and Mohammed Shami, Bhuvneshwar Kumar has also bowled brilliantly in the tournament. Bhuvi has taken 4 wickets in 5 matches.

Arshdeep Singh has done wonders. Against Pakistan, he claimed Babar Azam’s wicket before he could even score.

Mohammed Shami has not taken many wickets in the T20 World Cup, but in all the overs he bowled, the batsmen were struggling to score runs.

Team India's weaknesses

Team India's three weaknesses have come out in the T20 World Cup. These are the opening pair, spin bowling and poor fielding.

Rohit Sharma was also injured during practice on Tuesday, but now he is fully fit. Against England, Rohit will have to make up his lost form at any cost. For this, he is also practicing a lot
