Vaishali Accident: 10 Die As Truck Tramples People Returning After Puja In Bihar

Vaishali (Bihar): A horrific road accident took place in Mehnar area of ​​Bihar's Vaishali district at around 9 pm on Sunday night. The truck ran over people who were returning on foot after having a feast following a puja. 

8 children died: Ten people have been reported killed in the accident. These include 8 children. At the same time, more than 10 people are seriously injured. The incident is of Sultanpur village under Desari police station area of ​​Vaishali district.

After hitting people, the truck collided with a Peepal tree. The driver got stuck in the steering in an injured state. A dead body is trapped in the truck.

Vaishali SP Mahesh has told that so far the death of at least 10 people has been confirmed in this incident.

People were returning after puja: Local people told that there was Navatan Puja nearby. People had gone in the puja with the children. Everyone was returning from there after the banquet. 

Driver was under influence of alcohol: Meanwhile, a high speed truck trampled them. According to the locals, the driver of the truck was under the influence of alcohol.

On the information of the accident, the hearse and ambulances have been dispatched from Hajipur Sadar Hospital. Doctors and medical staff have been alerted in Sadar Hospital.

As soon as the incident was reported, RJD MLA of Mahua assembly constituency Dr. Mukesh Roshan reached Hajipur Sadar Hospital and expressed grief over this painful incident.

Pappu Yadav, president of the Jan Adhikar Party, said in a tweet, "The horrific road accident in Desari of Vaishali district is extremely sad."

The BJP's Bihar unit tweeted, "Heartbreaking news of the death of a large number of people under extremely tragic circumstances in a horrific road accident near Vaishali."
