Tanker hits 48 vehicles on Pune-Bengaluru highway, over 50 injured


Pune: A horrific road accident took place on the Pune-Bengaluru highway in Maharashtra on Sunday. Here an uncontrollable tanker hit 48 vehicles. More than 50 people have been injured in the accident. As soon as the information was received, the police and fire brigade teams have reached the spot.

Police Commissioner Sohail Sharma said that the injured are being treated at Mangeshkar Hospital and Navale Hospital. The condition of one of the injured is serious and some have been given first aid and allowed to go home.

Accident happened due to brake failure

Fire brigade officer Sujit Patil said that according to the initial information, the brake of the tanker had failed. Due to this the driver lost control and it hit 48 vehicles. More than 50 people have been injured in the accident who have been admitted to a hospital in Pune for treatment. Relief and rescue work has been started. The number of injured may increase further.
