Bhopal Gas Tragedy: Sambhavna Trust Clinic Members Paid Homage, Even Today Survivors Suffering From Serious Ailments


Bhopal: The Bhopal gas tragedy that took place on 2-3 December 1984 has completed 37 years. Thousands of people lost their lives due to gas leakage in the Union Carbide factory. On the 38th anniversary of the gas tragedy, the members of Sambhavna Trust Clinic paid tribute to the victims by lighting candles. Sambhavna Trust provides free treatment to gas victims.

Corona impacted gas victims more than normal people

Aziza Sultan of the clinic said that even today many people are suffering and dying untimely due to the poisonous gas released from Union Carbide in December 1984. Those who survived the accident are today suffering from serious diseases related to lungs, kidneys and other organs. Most of the patients in this are cancer patients.

Even during Corona, this epidemic had the most impact on people suffering from gas. It is clear from the government statistics of deaths due to Covid in the capital Bhopal that the death rate due to corona among the people affected by poisonous gas was 5 times more than that of the common people. In view of all this, the gas victims are demanding proper compensation from the government.

Trust providing free treatment for 26 years

More than 85 types of medicines are made in Sambhavna Trust Clinic itself, by which free treatment is given to gas victims and people suffering from groundwater (underground water) polluted by toxic waste of Union Carbide. Over the past 26 years, the clinic has developed a combination of English, Ayurveda, Panchakarma and Yoga to treat ailments caused by toxic chemicals in victims. Due to this, more than 36 thousand victims have been treated so far.
