Bihar News: 17 Die After Consuming Spurious Liquor In Chhapra's Saran , 20 Seious

Chhapra (Bihar): 17 people have died after consuming spurious liquor in Chhapra's Saran. 12 more admitted to the hospital in the morning died during treatment. 5 people died late on Tuesday night. It is being told that a large consignment of country liquor had reached Mashrakh and Isuapur areas, which was consumed by more than 50 people. 

All the people live nearby within a radius of 1 kilometer. Country liquor is made and sold on a large scale in the Doila area. Death due to alcohol has not been confirmed by the administration, but the people around say that everyone had consumed alcohol. After this, complaints of vomiting and diarrhea started. Within a short time many of them lost their vision.

As soon as the people returned home, after some time their health started deteriorating. Suddenly they got high fever. Started vomiting and complained of stomach ache. 

Death toll may increase

The death toll may increase further. As soon as the administration came to know about the poisonous liquor, Sadar Hospital was converted into a cantonment. Policemen and administrative officials were seen running till late night. However, they are not speaking anything on the consumption of spurious liquor.

The deceased, identified as Sanjay Singh, Harinder Ram, Kunal Singh, and Amit Ranjan, had allegedly consumed spurious liquor, which led to their demise.

The police are currently investigating the matter. Talking about the incident, the Madhaura DSP said that the police are looking for the villagers who have fallen sick after the consumption of the liquor.

Administration will conduct postmortem of bodies

After this incident there was hue and cry in the village. There was a stir in the district administration. Madhaura DSP has reached the spot and is engaged in the investigation of the matter. Police and other officials are visiting the area to search for other sick people. The policemen present on the spot told that the postmortem of the dead bodies will be done. So that the cause of death can be known.
