Shimla: In the Himachal Pradesh assembly elections, once again the public has changed the ruling government and maintained the tradition. Means, this time also the power has changed in the election. Chief Minister Jairam Thakur has resigned after the results. Here, churning is going on in the Congress to elect the CM. Virbhadra Singh's wife Pratibha Singh is ahead in the race.
Jairam Thakur's 3 ministers lost the elections: Dr. Ramlal Markanda, who was a minister in Jairam government, lost the election from Lahaul-Spiti seat to Ravi Thakur of Congress.
Sarveen Chowdhary, who was a minister in the Jairam government, lost the election to Kewal Singh Pathania of the Congress from Shahpur seat in Kangra district.
Suresh Bhardwaj, who was the urban development minister in the Jairam cabinet, lost the election to Anirudh Singh of the Congress from Kasumpti seat in Shimla district. Suresh Bhardwaj had won the last four elections from Shimla Urban seat. The BJP high command this time changed Bhardwaj's seat and gave him ticket from Kasumpti seat.
After 1985, no party has been able to repeat its government in the state. Then there was the Congress government and Virbhadra Singh was the Chief Minister.
