Himachal Pradesh Election Results 2022: Congress Crosses Majority Mark

Shimla: In the Himachal Pradesh assembly elections, once again the public has changed the ruling government and maintained the tradition. Means, this time also the power has changed in the election. Counting of votes is on for 68 seats in the state. In the latest figures, the Congress has crossed the mark of 35 seats required for a majority. Congress has so far won 39 seats, while it is ahead in 1.

BJP has won 24 seats and is leading in 1. Apart from this, independent candidates have won 3 seats. At the same time, the Aam Aadmi Party, which defeated the BJP in the MCD elections, could not even open its account in HP.

Chief Minister Jairam Thakur has resigned after the results. Here, churning is going on in the Congress to elect the CM. Virbhadra Singh's wife Pratibha Singh is ahead in the race.

Jairam Thakur's 3 ministers lost the elections: Dr. Ramlal Markanda, who was a minister in Jairam government, lost the election from Lahaul-Spiti seat to Ravi Thakur of Congress.

Sarveen Chowdhary, who was a minister in the Jairam government, lost the election to Kewal Singh Pathania of the Congress from Shahpur seat in Kangra district.

Suresh Bhardwaj, who was the urban development minister in the Jairam cabinet, lost the election to Anirudh Singh of the Congress from Kasumpti seat in Shimla district. Suresh Bhardwaj had won the last four elections from Shimla Urban seat. The BJP high command this time changed Bhardwaj's seat and gave him ticket from Kasumpti seat.

After 1985, no party has been able to repeat its government in the state. Then there was the Congress government and Virbhadra Singh was the Chief Minister. This time everyone's eyes are on whether the trend of changing the government on the mountain will continue or BJP will be able to change this custom with the help of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's face.
