Shimla: One state of the country is going to set an example for all others. All the official vehicles used by the Government of Himachal Pradesh will be EV i.e. Electric Vehicles in the near future. Diesel and petrol-powered vehicles will be replaced in a phased manner over the next five years.
Naresh Chauhan, Principal Media Advisor to Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhwinder Sukhu gave this information. He said that to keep the environment clean and green, priority is being given to EVs. In the next 5 years, the government department will buy only electric vehicles and charging stations will also be increased.

Earlier, Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu had also said that the state government has decided to rapidly switch to green fuel. Sukhu, while interacting with senior officials, emphasized that amid increasing vehicular movement in the state, the government has decided to promote electric vehicles.
CM's media advisor Naresh Chauhan reiterated that we should preserve the environment and also save energy. He said that the Himachal government has decided to go for electric vehicles in all government departments during the next five years.
