IPL Mini Auction 2023: England's Batsman Harry Brook Bought By Sunrisers Hyderabad For 13.25 Crores


Kochi: The mini auction of the Indian Premier League (IPL) has started in Kochi. England's batsman Harry Brook is the costliest sold so far. 

23-year-old Brook was bought by Sunrisers Hyderabad for 13.25 crores. Brook has become a part of the IPL auction for the first time. Captain Kane Williamson of New Zealand is also . He was bought by Gujarat Titans for a base price of 2 crores. He was a part of Sunrisers Hyderabad in 2022 IPL.

10 teams of IPL have 206.5 crores. Hyderabad Sunrisers has the highest Rs 42.25 crore. 87 players are to be bought and 405 players will be auctioned.

Capped batters to be auctioned first

The first set in the auction is of capped batters. Means such batsmen who have played international cricket. These include big names like Kane Williamson of New Zealand, Joe Root of England, Mayank Agarwal of India. The second set has star all-rounders like England's Ben Stokes, Sam Curran and Australia's Cameron Green. This is where maximum money is expected to rain.

Rehan Ahmed, Ben McDermott withdraw

A day before the auction, 18-year-old England leg-spinner Rehan Ahmed and Australian batsman Ben McDermott have withdrawn their names.

Top English-Australian players to play full season

Top English and Australian players like Ben Stokes, Cameron Green and Sam Curran will be available for the entire IPL 2023 season. In a letter sent to the IPL teams, the BCCI said that the cricket boards of England and Australia have confirmed the availability of their players for the entire IPL season.

Indian bowlers may be banned for their suspicious action

BCCI has said that 5 Indian bowlers included for the auction may be banned for their suspicious action. Which includes spinner Tanush of Mumbai, Rohan of Kerala, Apoorva Wankhede of Vidarbha, Chirag Gandhi of Gujarat and Ramakrishnan Ghosh of Maharashtra.
