Nitish Kumar's Insensitive Statement On Death Of 39 Due To Spurious Liquor In Bihar, Said – Those Who Consume Alcohol Will Die

Patna: In Bihar where liquor ban has been in place for the last six years, 39 lives were lost due to consumption of spurious liquor at Chhapra in Saran district. The figure may also increase, because the way the number of dead increased in the last two days, even wickets do not fall in cricket. Although the number is officially under 40, sources are telling that no less than 70 lives have been lost. In Chhapra i.e. Saran district of Bihar, spurious liquor has really wreaked havoc.

The liquor wreaked havoc on the poor

In Saran district, the liquor mafia played such a dangerous game with the lives of common people that  more than 35 people died in the district in no time. According to the figures so far, 39 people have lost their lives due to spurious liquor within two days in Mashrak and Isuapur police station areas of Chhapra district.

Even now many people are undergoing treatment in the hospital and postmortem of 25 has been done. The Chhapra liquor scandal has wreaked havoc on the poor the most. Some do not have the money to perform last rites of the dead body, so they are asking for donations, while some want to perform last rites as soon as possible out of fear. According to Bihar's prohibition law, the dead cannot get any kind of compensation. Also, action can be taken against the family, that's why the number of dead bodies is being told less.

Bihar's politics has heated up

On one hand Bihari leader Sushil Kumar Modi raised questions on this issue in Rajya Sabha, on the other hand BJP MLAs created ruckus outside and inside Bihar Assembly. BJP leader and Union Minister Giriraj Singh said that Nitish Kumar should resign if he is not able to do his work properly. At the same time, senior BJP leader and MP from Saran, Rajiv Pratap Rudy said that prohibition has been a complete failure. Sushil Modi termed Nitish Kumar as frustrated.

Nitish's insensitive statement

However, Nitish Kumar is firm on his stand regarding prohibition. After showing anger with the opposition MLAs in the assembly yesterday, today he has given an insensitive statement in front of the press. He did not talk about the administrative failure or the negligence of the police and said that those who drink alcohol will surely die. His statement is being criticized from all sides.
