Who Will Be Himachal Pradesh CM: Now Congress High Command Will Decide

Shimla: Congress could not decide its Chief Minister in Himachal Pradesh. The final decision was left to the party high command in a meeting attended by 40 MLAs and central observers on Friday that lasted for about an hour. Now the decision of the Chief Minister will be taken directly from Delhi.

Six names were discussed in the meeting,  including State President and former Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh's wife Pratibha Singh, Sukhwinder Sukhu, Mukesh Agnihotri, Chandra Kumar, Harshvardhan Chauhan and Dhaniram Shandil. But could not agree on any one. However, the top contenders are Pratibha Singh and Sukhwinder Sukhu.

Observers will submit the report to the high command on Sunday: Himachal in-charge of Congress Rajeev Shukla said – The MLAs have given all rights to the party high command for the final decision. MLA Mukesh Agnihotri proposed it, on which all 40 MLAs agreed. The observers will submit the report to the high command on Sunday. Soon after this the CM will be decided and announced. All decisions will be taken by the high command. There is no factionalism in the party.

Meeting started 5 hours late: The meeting of Congress MLAs was to be held at 3 pm, but all the MLAs did not turn up. Congress in-charge Rajiv Shukla, Observer Bhupesh Baghel and Bhupendra Hooda then fixed the time for 6 pm. Despite this, the meeting was able to start around 8 o'clock.

The CLP meeting of newly elected Congress MLAs to discuss the appointment of the next Himachal Pradesh chief minister began amid a show of strength by aspirants to the post.

Chief minister-hopefuls Pratibha Singh, Mukesh Agnihotri and Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu reached the party office for the meeting along with their supporters, who raised slogans in their favour.
