Delhi Anjali Kanjhawala Accident Case: New Revelations Come To Fore; Shahrukh Extends Help To Victim Family

New Delhi: The eyewitness of the Sultanpuri death case, Nidhi, who was riding pillion on Anjali’s scooty when a car hit them, was arrested in a drug smuggling case back in 2020 and was out on bail.
Nidhi was arrested in December 2020 in a case registered in Agra Cantt under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act (1985).
On December 6, 2020, Government Railway Police (GRP) in Agra arrested Nidhi and her two associates - Sameer and Ravi Kumar - with 30 kg of ganja and sent them to jail.
Agra SP Railway, Mushtaq Ahmed, said that Nidhi was the ganja supplier. Nidhi and her two associates are on bail.

Nidhi not arrested: Police

The Delhi Police has denied reports that the Kanjhawala case victim's friend, who was riding pillion on her scooter at the time of the accident, has been arrested and said she has been called to join the investigation.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (outer) Harendra Kumar Singh said, "There are reports that Nidhi has been arrested by the police. It is hereby clarified that she has been called to join the investigation."

Help pours in for victim's family

The Delhi government on Friday approved financial assistance of Rs 10 lakh to Anjali's family. Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal said that Anjali's painful death has shocked the entire nation. It cannot be compensated. At the same time Shah Rukh Khan's Meer Foundation has donated a big amount to Anjali Singh's family. However, the amount given has not been disclosed. The Foundation has taken this step especially for Anjali Singh's mother and her siblings.
On the other hand, after the arrest of sixth accused Ashutosh, seventh accused Ankush Khanna surrendered at Sultanpuri police station on Friday. Ankush got bail on Saturday. The rest of the accused are in police custody. They are being questioned and investigation is underway.
