Delhi Kanjhawala Girl Dragging Case: Locals Gherao Police Station, What The Victim’s Mother Said

New Delhi: Angered by the death of a girl by dragging on road in Kanjhawala area of Delhi in the early hours of Sunday, relatives and neighbors protested against the police on Monday. They raised questions about the police investigation and raised slogans.

Along with the relatives of the victim, many people gheraoed the Sultanpuri police station in Delhi.

According to the police, after the car accident in the early hours of Sunday, the girl's body got stuck in the car and she kept on dragging for a few kilometers. This matter is of Kanjhawala area of Delhi. Police has arrested five people in this case.

According to Harendra Singh, DCP of Outer Delhi, "It is just a case of accident. The victim was not sexually assaulted."

What the victim's mother said

But, the victim's mother, other relatives and neighbors are questioning the police's theory.

They allege that the victim was abused and then it was made to look like an accident.

The victim's mother alleged, "My daughter was sexually abused by five people and she was dragged under a car after assaulting her."

She said, “He did not have a cloth on her body. Would this have happened if there had been an accident?

The victim's mother told that she last spoke to her daughter on Saturday night.

She said, “I had talked to her at about eight o'clock. She had told her work was not over yet. Shre said the work will be over by four in the morning."

The victim's mother said, "At seven in the morning, the policemen had called that there had been an accident."

Girl was family’s sole breadwinner

The victim's mother said that her daughter was the only support of the family. She said, “She used to work as an event planner in weddings. My daughter was the sole breadwinner of our house."

Sack LG, demands AAP

In the Sultanpuri-Kanjhawala case, the Aam Aadmi Party has accused the Lieutenant Governor of Delhi and the police of hushing up the case. The party has demanded the central government to sack the LG immediately.

Aam Aadmi Party MLA Saurabh Bhardwaj in a press conference alleged that the fifth accused in this case is a BJP leader. He said that he is currently lodged in Sultanpuri jail.

Saurabh Bhardwaj showed a picture of the Sultanpuri police station, which has a poster of a BJP leader.

With this, he said, "Manoj Mittal is locked up in this Sultanpuri police station. Delhi Police and LG have not told why this case is being hushed up. Because Manoj Mittal, who is accused number five, is lodged in this police station."

There is no response from the Bharatiya Janata Party on this allegation of the Aam Aadmi Party.
