Hockey World Cup: India Plays Goalless Draw With England

 

Rourkela: India played a 0-0 draw with England on the third day of the ongoing Hockey World Cup in Odisha. In the last minute, England definitely got a chance to win the match by scoring a penalty corner, but the British failed to capitalize on it.
After this match on Sunday, there was no change in the position of the teams in the points table of Group-D. England remains at first place and India at second place. Both have 4 points each in their account, but the English team is ahead on the basis of goal difference.
Both the teams played aggressively in the first half of the exciting match which lasted till 9 pm, but the goal could not be scored. Even after the final whistle the score remained 0-0. The England team was shown one and the hosts India were shown two green cards.
Rourkela's Birsa Munda Stadium was packed with 20,000 spectators. The spectators who did not get tickets also stood outside the stadium and supported Team India.
