India-New Zealand ODI: How Shubman Gill Broke 3 World Records


New Delhi: India defeated New Zealand by 12 runs in the first match of the three ODI series. Young batsman Shubman Gill's double century played an important role in this victory of Team India.

Youngest player to score a double century

Shubman Gill is the fifth batsman from India to score a double century in ODI cricket. Overall 8 batsmen have together  scored 10 double centuries. Among them, Gill has become the youngest batsman to achieve this feat. He has scored a double century at the age of 23 years, 132 days.

Gill has completed his one thousand runs in ODI cricket during this innings. He has become the Indian batsman to reach this milestone in the fewest innings. Gill has achieved this feat in 19 innings of 19 ODIs. The previous Indian record was in the name of Virat Kohli and Shikhar Dhawan. Both of them scored 1000 runs in 24 innings.

Second world record – maximum runs in 19 innings

Gill has taken the world record of scoring the most runs in the world in19 innings. Now he has 1102 runs in his name. He has broken the record of Fakhar Zaman of Pakistan. Zaman had scored 1089 runs after 19 innings.

Third world record - biggest ODI innings against New Zealand

Gill has made the third world record for playing the biggest innings in ODIs against New Zealand. He has broken the record of former veteran batsman Sachin Tendulkar of his own country.
