India-NZ ODI: Team India Outplays New Zealand; Rohit Sharma Scores Half Century

Raipur: Thanks to the brilliant performance of the bowlers and the half-century innings of Rohit Sharma, India won the second match of the ODI series against New Zealand by 8 wickets. With this, India has taken an unassailable 2-0 lead in the 3-match series.
Team India has won the 7th consecutive ODI series at home. The team has not lost the home ODI series for the last four years. This is also India's sixth consecutive win in ODIs.
Opting to field, Indian pacers were on the mark as India bowled out New Zealand for a paltry 108 in 34.3 overs.

Shami most successful bowler

Mohammed Shami (3/18) was the mowst successful bowler for India as the veteran pacer captured three wickets. Hardik Pandya (2/26) and Washington Sundar (2/7) accounted for two batters each. Mohammad Siraj, Shardul Thakur and Kuldeep Yadav got one wicket each.

8 Kiwi batsmen could not touch double figure

Glenn Phillips scored the highest 36 runs for the New Zealand team. Mitchell Santner scored 27 and last match's centurion Michael Bracewell scored 22 runs. 8 batsmen of Kiwi team could not even touch the double figure.
In response, India scored the required runs in 20 overs to win by 2 wickets. Sskipper Rohit Sharma scored a fifty to lead India to a comfortable win. Rohit Sharma (51 runs) got out after scoring his 48th ODI century. Rohit made an opening partnership of 72 runs off 86 balls with Shubman Gill. In the last 5 innings, both shared a 50+ partnership for the fourth time.
