Raipur: Team India defeated New Zealand by 8 wickets in the match played in Raipur. With this, India has now come very close to becoming Number-1 in the ODI rankings. Team India now has 113 points in the ICC rankings and has jumped one place to reach number three.
If Team India wins the third match of the series as well, then it will occupy the number-1 position.

India was at No-4 before 2nd ODI

India, England and NZ have 113 points each

India, England and New Zealand all three have 113 points each, but England is at top place on the basis of decimal points after 113. New Zealand is second and India is third.
If Team India also win the third match of the series, then it will have 114 points and it will become Number-1 in the rankings. England will slip to second place and New Zealand will slide to fourth place. Australia will be number-2 with 112 points.

How India can become No-1 in all 3 formats

The Indian team has a chance to become number-1 in all three formats of cricket simultaneously. India is already number-1 in T20. As soon as we win the third ODI against New Zealand, our team will become number-1 in the 50-over format as well. After this, the top position can be achieved by performing well in the Test series against Australia.
However, before that India has to maintain its ranking in the T20 series against New Zealand. For this, at least 2 matches have to be won in that series.
