Bhopal: Khelo India Youth Games hosted by Madhya Pradesh, the heart of India will be launched in a grand ceremony in Bhopal on January 30.
The programme will be given a colourful launch in the presence of Union Sports and Youth Affairs Minister Anurag Thakur, Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, Union Minister of State for Sports Nisith Pramanik and MP's Sports and Youth Welfare Minister Yashodhara Raje Scindia at Tatya Tope Nagar Stadium in Bhopal on Monday at 7 pm.
Cultural and historical heritage of MP displayed
Grand preparations have been made for the opening ceremony of Khelo India Youth Games to be held in Madhya Pradesh for the first time. About a 100 meter -long stage has been built on the main ground of the TT Nagar stadium, in which the cultural and historical heritage of Madhya Pradesh has been displayed.
It displays the Narmada Ghat, Khajuraho Temple, Bhim-Betka, Shri Mahakal Mahalok, Sanchi Stupa, Temple of Orchha, Bhedaghat and Gwalior Fort.
Jay Bhanushali will be anchor of opening ceremony
Eminent TV star Jay Bhanushali will be the anchor of the opening ceremony. Well-known singer Shaan, who has given voice for the theme song of Khelo India Youth Games, will perform at the ceremony. Singer Neeti Mohan will present the Narmada Ashtak.
Ek Bharat-Shreshtha Bharat will be presented by a troupe of 100 folk artistes of South India’s famous Drums Shivamani group.
Scintillating dance performances
In addition, there will be a scintillating dance performance by Abhilipsa Panda on ‘Har Har Shambhu’ and Nataraj Dance Group, G20’s ‘Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam’ by Prince Dance Group. In the inaugural program of Khelo India Youth Games 2022, the people of Bhopal will get to see the colorful presentation of laser show, fireworks.
All eyes will be on host Madhya Pradesh
This time all eyes will be on Madhya Pradesh, the host of Khelo India Youth Games 2022. In the last Khelo India Games held in Kurukshetra, Haryana, Madhya Pradesh secured 8th position with 12 gold, 11 silver and 15 bronze medals, bagging a total of 38 medals, in which most of the medals were won by academy players. This time Madhya Pradesh is participating in all 27 games of Khelo India. The 470-member squad from all sports includes 146 academy players this time.
