Unnao: Six people died after being hit by a speeding dumper late Sunday evening in Achalganj police station area of Unnao district in Uttar Pradesh.
Superintendent of Police Siddharth Shankar Meena said on Monday that the accident took place on the Lucknow-Kanpur National Highway when a speeding dumper coming from the Lucknow side ran over a bike rider standing on the roadside near Azad Marg intersection and tried to escape. After trampling a mother and daughter, the dumper overturned after ramming into a car.
He told that the police reached the spot and sent the injured to the hospital, in which two people died on the spot while four others died during treatment.
EMO Dr. Ashish of the district hospital said that the deceased were identified as Chhote Lal (32), resident of Achalganj, Shivang (30), resident of Achalganj, Vimlesh (60), resident of Achalganj, Puran Dixit, Rampyari (45) and daughter Shivani. (13), resident of Zalim Kheda, Achalganj.
