Wrestlers Protest: WFI President Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh Refuses To Resign

New Delhi: Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh, president of the Wrestling Federation of India (WFI), surrounded by allegations of sexual harassment, refused to resign on Friday. He said, 'If I open my mouth, a tsunami will come. I also have many players in my support. I will hold a press conference at 4 pm.

Female and male wrestlers, who have been demanding the resignation of Brij Bhushan Sharan for 3 days, have complained of sexual harassment to the Indian Olympic Association. The Sports Ministry has held talks with these wrestlers for the second consecutive day on Friday as well.

Sports Minister Anurag Thakur had a meeting with the wrestlers for 4 hours on Thursday. Anurag Thakur is still waiting for Brij Bhushan's reply.

According to reports, Brij Bhushan has spoken to Home Minister Amit Shah on the phone regarding the allegations of sexual abuse. Although Brij Bhushan himself has denied any such conversation.

According to sources, the Sports Ministry has suggested to form a committee to investigate the allegations and consider the demands. It is being said that the wrestlers are not agreeable to this.

CM Arvind Kejriwal tweeted that serious allegations were leveled from the Minister of Haryana to the President of WFI, but there were no resignations, no action. This is very shameful.

Boxer Vijender Singh also reached Jantar Mantar in the morning. He said that I have come here to meet the wrestlers.
