New Delhi: Opposition parties in the Lok Sabha, Rajya Sabha created ruckus on Friday also on the Hindenburg issue.
Opposition parties demanded an impartial investigation under the supervision of the Supreme Court or a joint parliamentary committee to probe the charges raised in the Hindenburg report against the Adani Group. Both Houses have been adjourned till February 6.
Opposition parties in the Lok Sabha, Rajya Sabha created ruckus on Friday also on the Hindenburg issue, due to which the proceedings of the House did not take place and the House was adjourned for the day after the lunch break.
After one adjournment, as soon as the proceedings of the house started at 2 o'clock, the members of opposition parties including Congress, Trinamool Congress, Samajwadi Party started ruckus in the middle of the house and started raising slogans.
Amidst the commotion, the presiding officer Rajendra Agarwal got the necessary papers placed on the floor of the house.
Agrawal tried to conduct the proceedings of the House amid the ruckus and repeatedly urged the members to return to their seats. The members did not listen to him and continued to create ruckus. The agitating members kept shouting slogans standing on both sides of the seat.
‘Discussion on President's Address a constitutional obligation’
The Presiding Officer urged the members that discussion on the President's Address is also a constitutional obligation and it has also been a tradition of the House. The members should cooperate in running the House and start discussion on the President's address.
But the members ignored his point and created ruckus, due to which Agrawal adjourned the proceedings of the House for the day.
Uproar in Rajya Sabha also
The uproar over Hindenburg's report continued in the Rajya Sabha on Friday and the House was adjourned till 2:30 pm.
Inaugurating the proceedings of the House in the morning, Speaker Jagdeep Dhankhar informed about receipt of adjournment notices of 15 members under Rule 267. He said that these notices are dismissed for not being in conformity with the provisions.
After this, when the Speaker tried to conduct Zero Hour in the House, the members of the opposition parties, including the Congress, started speaking loudly.
The Speaker said that the proceedings can be conducted only after there is order in the House. He appealed to the members to calm down but it had no effect.
