Former Cricketer Vinod Kambli Booked For Assaulting His Wife Andrea Hewitt

Vinod Kambli Controversy: Former cricketer Vinod Kambli has been booked for assaulting his wife. Wife Andrea Hewitt has complained against him at Bandra Police Station in Mumbai. On the basis of which an FIR has been registered against Kambli.

In her complaint, wife Andrea said that Kambli verbally abused her and assaulted her under the influence of alcohol. Mumbai Police said that no arrest has been made in the case so far. 

According to the Bandra Police, an FIR has been registered against Kambli under sections 324 and 504 of the IPC. Kambli has been accused of hitting his wife with the handle of a cooking pan in a drunken state. He threw the pan at his wife. This hurt Andrea. After this he also hit his wife with a bat.

Also abused son in an inebriated state

IVinod Kambli came home drunk late at night. He not only beat up his wife but also abused his son. The 12 year old son tried to stop Kambli. He abused the son and then beat the wife. 

Although Andrea has said that the matter is being resolved. Police said that after the incident of assault, Andrea first went to Bhabha Hospital. After that she decided to file a case and reached the police station. She informed the police about the incident and got an FIR registered. 

Kambli has played 104 ODIs and 17 Test matches

Vinod Kambli has played a total of 104 ODIs and 17 Test matches for India. During this, he scored a total of 3 thousand 561 runs. This includes a total of six centuries. He scored four centuries in Tests and two centuries in ODI cricket. 

Kambli, who started his career in 1991, ended his career in just nine years. He played his last match in 2000, while his teammate Sachin played for the country for 24 years and created many records.

Maid has also lodged an FIR

Earlier in 2015 also, their domestic help had lodged an FIR against both of them. It was alleged that when the maid Soni demanded her salary from Vinod Kambli and Andrea, both of them beat her and kept her locked in a room for three days and later drove her away from the house.

Kambli once openly abused Sidhu

In the year 2015, Kambli also made headlines by openly abusing Navjot Singh Sidhu. Former cricketer Vinod Kambli tweeted his displeasure over the inclusion of former Pakistani cricketers in Indian TV programmes. Using abusive words for Sidhu, Kambli also asked him to shut up his chatter.

Said in reality show that I was discriminated against in Team India

In 2009, in the reality show 'Sach Ka Saamna', Kambli said that he was discriminated against in Team India. He said that Sachin should have helped him when he was going through a bad phase. 

According to reports, Kambli got Rs 10 lakh from this show. Kambli later also said that when I needed him the most i.e. Sachin, he did not help me, so I said so in the reality show.
