Tarn Taran (Punjab): Two miscreants involved in Punjabi singer politician Sidhu Moosewala murder case were killed in gang war in jail. A violent clash broke out between inmates in Goindwal Jail in Tarn Taran district in Punjab on Sunday.
The deceased were identified as Duran Mandeep Singh alias Toofan of Batala and Manmohan Singh alias Mohana, a resident of Budhlada. The condition of another inmate Keshav is critical. All three were attacked with sharp weapons on their heads, police said.
"There was a fight between miscreants in Goindwal Sahib jail, in which Duran Mandeep Singh Toofan and Manmohan Singh Mohana were killed," said Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Jaspal Singh Dhillon.
Tarn Taran's Emergency Medical Officer Dr. Jagjit Singh said that of the three injured brought from the jail in the afternoon, two had died before being brought to the hospital, while the condition of the third remained critical.
Slain gangster Mandeep Singh Toofan was present as a standby shooter during the murder of singer Moosewala. He was a member of the Jaggu Bhagwanpuria gang.
Moosewala was shot dead in May last year
Shubhdeep Singh Sidhu, popularly known as Sidhu Moosewala, was shot dead in Jawaharke village of Mansa district by unidentified assailants on May 29 last year.
The attack took place just two days after the Punjab government withdrew the security cover of 424 persons, including Moosewala.
According to police, initial investigation suggested that Punjabi gangster Lawrence Bishnoi was the mastermind of the attack on Moosewala His close aide Goldy Brar, who is said to be based in Canada, was also under investigation.
In July, two gangsters, believed to be involved in the killing of Moosewala, were killed in an encounter with Punjab Police in Cheecha Bhakna village of Amritsar.

Goldie further wrote – He had beaten up our brother Manpreet Bhau Dhaipai two days ago on the behest of Jaggu. Today our brothers killed them on one side. This Jaggu had killed our brothers Rupa and Mannu in an encounter by setting a trap.
