Delhi Liquor Policy Case: CBI Arrests Manish Sisodia

New Delhi: Delhi's Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia has been arrested by the CBI on Sunday evening in connection with the liquor policy case. CBI arrested him after 8 hours long interrogation. It has been told that an IAS officer of the Excise Department had taken the name of Sisodia in the CBI inquiry.

The officer said- Sisodia had made such a liquor policy, which was not profitable for the government, traders earned profit. Sisodia was interrogated on the basis of this statement.

The expected arrest came after over nine hours. He is the second Delhi minister to be arrested since Satyendar Jain.

The officer had also accused Sisodia of destroying evidence, sources revealed. When the CBI interrogated Sisodia and the officer sitting face to face, he did not answer many questions. This became the reason for Sisodia's arrest.

Security beefed up

Sisodia will be produced in the court tomorrow i.e. on Monday. Before this he will have a medical test. Security has been beefed up outside the CBI headquarters after Sisodia's arrest.

The police have made elaborate security arrangements to maintain law and order, turning Delhi into a virtual fortress with multiple blockades and check-points. Police teams have been deployed outside Mr Sisodia's house and the CBI office.
