India Vs Australia Test: India's Dominance Continues As Rohit Sharma Hits Brilliant Ton

Nagpur: India took a 144-run lead over Australia in the first innings of the first Test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy. India finished Day 2 on 321/7 in 114 overs, for an overall lead of 144 runs.

Team India scored 321 runs for 7 wickets in the first innings on Friday, the second day of the ongoing 5-day match at the Jamtha Cricket Stadium in Nagpur. Captain Rohit Sharma contributed the maximum 120 runs.

Todd Murphy, playing the debut match for the Kangaroo team, took 5 wickets. Captain Pat Cummins and Nathan Lyon got one wicket each.

A watchful Jadeja played out the last ball of the day with utmost caution to end the second day's play.

Jadeja, Axar put on unbroken stand of 81 for 7th wicket 

Jadeja was unbeaten on 66, while Axar made 52 as the two spinners put on an unbroken stand of 81 for the seventh wicket to continue India's dominance in the match.

Debutant Murphy shone with the ball for Australia, picking up 5/82 but senior spinner Lyon managed just 1/98 in 37 overs.

Australia's first innings ended on 177 runs on the first day and Team India scored 77 runs for one wicket. In such a situation, Rohit and Ashwin took the Indian innings forward.
