NIA Raids In 8 States On Hideouts Of Lawrence Bishnoi, Aides; Evidence Of Funding From Pakistan Found

New Delhi: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has raided 70 places in eight states on Tuesday morning. These raids have taken place at the hideouts of gangster Lawrence Bishnoi and his close aides. 

NIA is taking action simultaneously in Rajasthan, Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, Chandigarh, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat and Uttar Pradesh. Gangster Lawrence's Pakistan connection has also been found during the raid in Rajasthan.

This is the third major raid by NIA in the last 6 months. NIA had been interrogating many gangsters including Lawrence Bishnoi in remand, in which action is being taken on the basis of the information received. 

NIA got evidence in terror funding

NIA is taking this action after getting evidence of involvement of Lawrence and his syndicate spread across different states in terror funding. 

Bishnoi and Bawana gangs are being funded from Pakistan, which is used to carry out anti-national activities. Lawrence and Neeraj Bawana, who were jailed in the Sidhu Moosewala murder case, had also confessed to arms supplier gang and terror funding. NIA has also found weapons at many places during the raid.

NIA has taken action against active gangsters Lawrence, Neeraj Bawana, Bambiha in Punjab and Haryana since September 2022 till now and people associated with their syndicate spread across North India.

Who is Lawrence Bishnoi

Lawrence Bishnoi is a gangster from Punjab. He is known for his criminal activities. He has gone to jail many times. He is a criminal, but he creates an image of himself as Robinhood. People of his community also consider him a hero. He came into limelight when he threatened to kill Bollywood's famous actor Salman Khan.

Lawrence Bishnoi and his gang have taken responsibility for the murder of Punjabi singer Sidhu Moosewala. Actually, Sidhu was very much supporting the opposition party of Lawrence Bishnoi, which Lawrence did not like. 

Due to this enmity, he openly fired Sidhu Moosewala with bullets. Lawrence Bishnoi says that he has avenged the murder of his two brothers Vikramjit Singh Midukhera and Gurlal Brar.
