Punjab: BSF Shoots Down Pakistani Drone In Amritsar

Amritsar: Border Security Force (BSF) personnel posted along the border have shot down a suspected drone that entered Indian territory from Pakistan in the area near village Shahzada, Amritsar, Punjab.

BSF Public Relations Officer said on Sunday that at about 02.11 am today, the force deployed on the border heard the buzz of a suspicious drone entering Indian territory from Pakistan in the area near village Shahzada, district Amritsar (Rural). 

He told that as per the prescribed practice, the soldiers tried to intercept the drone with firing. The entire area was cordoned off and police and concerned agencies were informed.

During preliminary search, BSF personnel recovered a black colored drone DJI Matrice (made in China), which was lying near Dhussi dam near village Shahzada in a partially damaged condition, the official said. Search is being carried out in the area.
