Rahul Gandhi's Remarks On PM Modi, Gautam Adani: BJP MP Moves Breach Of Privilege Motion

New Delhi: BJP MP Nishikant Dubey on Wednesday wrote to Lok Sabha Speaker to move a breach of privilege motion notice against Congress leader Rahul Gandhi.

A day earlier on Tuesday Rahul had made certain allegations about Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his association with industrialist Gautam Adani.

In a letter to Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla, Dubey said that Rahul’s allegations were ambiguous, offensive, unparliamentary and reckless and hurt the dignity of the House and Prime Minister.

No documentary evidence submitted

Dubey said Rahul Gandhi said in the House that he would provide documentary evidence but has not submitted any duly authenticated document in support of his statements.

Rahul’s conduct is in clear violation of privileges of the House and its members. Besides, it is a clear case of contempt of the House. Dubey sought immediate action against Rahul Gandhi for breach of privilege and contempt of the House.

Rahul had linked rise of Adani group to that of PM

Rahul Gandhi on Tuesday launched a scathing attack on the government in the wake of the Hindenburg-Adani row linking the rise of Adani group to that of PM Modi and alleged that 'rules were changed' in some sectors to favour him.

Rahul accused PM Modi of helping Gautam Adani's business empire across sectors, prompting emphatic denials from the ruling BJP, which called his allegations wild and unseemly.
