Rajasthan: Who Will Be Leader of Opposition In Legislative Assembly, Not Only Congress But BJP Also Suffers From Factionalism

Jaipur: In Rajasthan these days, amid the tussle between CM Ashok Gehlot in Congress and former deputy CM Sachin Pilot, factionalism has started emerging in BJP as well. 

After Gulabchand Kataria, who was the Leader of the Opposition in the state assembly, was made the governor of Assam, there has been a ruckus in the BJP for this post. 

Budget session underway but no decision on LoP

Due to this bickering and factionalism, the BJP is yet to decide who will be the leader of the opposition (LoP), while the budget session of the state assembly is underway.

There are many such issues against the Gehlot government, by raising them in the House, the BJP can create trouble for the Gehlot government. But at the moment it seems BJP itself is facing trouble due to factionalism.

LoP can become a major contender for CM post

In fact, it is believed that the leader of the opposition can also become a major contender in the race for the future chief minister. The name of the Leader of the Opposition will be finalized only when the central leadership takes a decision on it.

Party's state unit wants to avert controversy in poll year

In such a situation, the party leaders of Rajasthan are now looking to the central leadership. Because during the election time, the state unit of BJP wants that there should be no controversy. 

This is the reason why so far no decision has been taken at the state level on the name of the Leader of the Opposition.

Satish Poonia will handle responsibility till decision is taken

It is discussed that the stature and position of the MLA appointed as Leader of the Opposition is bound to increase increase in the party. However, till the name of the Leader of the Opposition is decided, only Satish Poonia will handle the responsibility of the opposition in the state assembly. He is also in the race for the Leader of the Opposition.

Vasundhara has no intention of becoming LoP

Chief Minister of the state Vasundhara Raje has no intention of becoming the Leader of the Opposition. She has also expressed her intention in this regard at the party level, but she wants to see such a face on the chair of the Leader of the Opposition, who is not in the race for the Chief Ministership if the BJP government is formed in the state. She is already seen clearing the way for herself.
