Shaligram Rocks Reach Ayodhya From Nepal: People Throng To Welcome Divine Rocks; Opened For Worship By Devotees

Ayodhya: After completing a journey of 373 kilometers and 7 days, two huge Shaligram rocks have reached Ayodhya. About 2-3 thousand people welcomed the rocks on Saryu river bridge in a festive atmosphere by showering flowers and playing drums. There were shouts of Jai Shri Ram.

The divine rocks of Shaligram brought for Ram temple reached Ayodhya from Janakpur, Nepal. A huge crowd of devotees gave a warm welcome. Both these rocks were presented to the Ram Janmabhoomi Trust on Thursday.

Devotees thronged to such an extent that it took one hour for the stones to reach Ramsevakapuram. Champat Rai, Dr. Anil Mishra, Mayor Rishikesh Upadhyay, general secretary of Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust, placed the rocks at Ramsevakpuram. PAC-police has been deployed outside for security.

Special arrangements made to keep rocks in Ram Janmabhoomi complex

The rocks will be worshiped on Thursday morning. After this they will be handed over to the Mahant of the Ram temple. Special arrangements have been made to keep the rocks in the Ram Janmabhoomi complex. At the same time, 100 Mahants have been invited to participate in the worship.

The general secretary of Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra, Champat Rai, said the rocks holding spiritual importance and considered to be centuries-old reached the Ram Katha Kunj where they were opened for worship by the devotees.

"There is a waterfall named Kali Gandaki in Nepal. It originates from Damodar Kund and is around 85 km north of Ganeshwar Dham Gandki. Both these rocks have been brought from there. The place is situated at a height of 6,000 feet above sea level. People even say that it is crores of years old. The two rocks weigh around 30 tonnes and 14-15 tonnes," he said.

Rocks will also come to Ayodhya from Odisha and Karnataka

Rocks will also come to Ayodhya from Odisha and Karnataka. But the time of his coming here has not been decided yet. After collecting all the rocks, a decision will be taken from which stone the idol of the sanctum sanctorum will be made only after consulting the experts. Sculptor will do a comparative study of all these. Then the trustees will consider their advice.

Sculptors from all over the country have been invited

Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust General Secretary Champat Rai told, 'The Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust is considering the manner in which the idol should be made in the temple of Lord Shri Ram and from which rocks this idol should be made. 

"For this, sculptors from all over the country have been called to know their views. What should be the gesture of the idol of God, it is being carefully considered," he added.
