Shubman Gill Became Youngest Indian To Hit A T20I Century, What Other Milestones Has He Achieved

New Delhi: Team India defeated New Zealand by 168 runs in the third T20 match. 23-year-old opener Shubman Gill was the hero of India's victory.

Gill, who scored three centuries in the last four matches in ODIs, did not perform well in the first two T20s. He made up for it at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.

Broke record of Virat Kohli

In the third match, he played a scintillating inning of 126 runs. With this, Gill became the batsman who scored highest for India in T20 International. He has broken the record of Virat Kohli (122 runs).

Became youngest Indian to hit a T20I century

Shubman Gill created history for Indian cricket as he surpassed Suresh Raina to become the youngest Indian to hit a T20I century. Gill achieved the milestone in 23 years and 146 days, just 10 days short of Raina, who had scored 101 against South Africa in 2010 aged 23 years and 156 days.

Shubman Gill remained unbeaten on 126 off just 63 balls as India posted a mammoth 234/4 after winning the toss and opting to bat first. This is India's highest-ever T20I total against New Zealand.

Hit centuries in all three formats

The amazing form Gill is in can be gauged from the fact that he has hit centuries in all three formats i.e. Test, ODI and T20 in the last 6 months. Gill has become only the fifth Indian batsman and 21st batsman in the world to score a century in all three formats. Before Gill, Suresh Raina, KL Rahul, Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli have achieved this feat.

Second youngest batsman in world to score a century in all 3 formats

Shubman Gill is the second youngest batsman in the world to score a century in all three formats. Mohammad Shahzad of Pakistan achieved this feat at the age of 22 years and 127 days. Gill has done this feat in 23 years 146 days.
