Shiv Sena Name And Symbol To Shinde Faction: Uddhav Thackeray Calls Emergency Meeting At Matoshree

MumbaiI: In the wake of the Election Commission's decision to recognize the group led by Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde as the original Shiv Sena group and give them the party symbol, former state chief minister Uddhav Thackeray convened a gathering of party leaders and MPs and MLAs at Matoshree here.

All eyes are on Thackeray's next role in the meeting. His group leaders across the state have left for Matoshree. Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Sanjay Raut has claimed it was a "murder of democracy.

MLAs and MPs remaining in Thackeray group will still remain with him?

Meanwhile, it will be equally important to see who will be present in the meeting. This will make it clear whether the MLAs and MPs remaining in the Thackeray group will remain with him even after this decision or will go to the Shinde group.

Significantly, the Supreme Court has been hearing continuously for the last three days on the issue of power struggle in Maharashtra and it was said that the matter will be heard on February 21.

Even before this, the Election Commission on Friday evening decided to give Shiv Sena name and bow and arrow symbol to the Shinde faction, after which there has been a stir in the political corridors.

Thackeray expressed his anger in a press conference and also targeted the Election Commission and Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
