Atiq Ahmed Brought To Prayagraj's Naini Central Jail

 

Prayagraj: Gangster Atiq Ahmed was brought from Ahmedabad Jail to Prayagraj's Naini Central Jail at around 5 pm on Monday amid tight security arrangements to appear in the court in connection with murder of Raju Pal.
Atiq will be presented in the MP-MLA court on Tuesday. Atiq's convoy was made to enter through the second gate under the strict supervision of the police. The jail has been converted into a complete cantonment. 

Atiq's convoy entered jail through back gate

Barricading has been done at the main gate of the jail to keep distance from the media. The media was misled and Atiq entered through the back gate.
Jail sources said that the high security cell where Atiq will be kept will be monitored by CCTV cameras. Apart from this, the antecedents of the security personnel who will be deployed outside his barrack have already been checked to see if there is any connection with Atiq.

Atiq's son Ali Ahmed is also lodged in this jail

Atiq's son Ali Ahmed is also lodged in this jail. His barrack has been changed by the jail administration. Although Ali has also been kept in the high security cell. Atiq's brother Ashraf is also being brought from Bareilly Jail to Naini Jail under tight police security.

Atiq and his brother will be produced in court on Tuesday

Umesh Pal was threatened several times and told not to testify in the murder case of the then Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) MLA Raju Pal on January 25, 2005. He was abducted on February 28, 2006. In the same case, both the brothers Atiq and Ashraf will be presented in the court on Tuesday.
Significantly, more than 100 cases are registered against Atiq Ahmed. But in the cases so far, tomorrow for the first time the verdict will be pronounced against him in the Umesh kidnapping case. 

Atiq Ahmed was lodged in Ahmedabad's Sabarmati Central Jail since June 2019 while Ashraf is lodged in Bareilly Jail since July 2020. Umesh Pal was murdered on 24 February 2023 in Prayagraj. In the murder case, a case has been registered against former MP Atiq Ahmed, his brother former MLA Ashraf, wife Shaista Parveen, sons Asad, Ali, Umar, shooters Ghulam, Sabir, Muslim Guddu etc.
