Bhopal: The work of manufacture of coaches for the Bhopal and Indore metro trains has started from Monday at the Alstom factory located in Savli near Vadodara, Gujarat.
Madhya Pradesh Urban Development and Housing Minister Bhupendra Singh virtually inaugurated the coach manufacture work of Metro train. Singh said that by August 31, it should be ensured that the first train set is delivered in Bhopal and Indore. He said that metro work is going on in the state according to the time line.
Alstom Company will supply 156 coaches
Singh informed that Alstom Company will supply 52 trains of 3 coaches i.e. 156 coaches for Bhopal and Indore Metro Rail projects. 27 trains of 3 coaches will arrive for Bhopal Metro and 25 trains of 3 coaches will arrive for Indore.
Maintenance of train for 15 years will also be done by the company
The length of the coach will be 22 meters and the width will be 2.9 meters. This train will run at a speed of 80 kilometers per hour. The maintenance of the train for 15 years will also be done by the company. Also in the contract, a joint contract has been entered into for the supply and installation of rolling staff, signaling and telecommunications.
Principal Secretary Urban Development and Housing Neeraj Mandloi, MD Metro Rail Manish Singh and other officials visited the Alstom factory and inquired about the coach manufacturing process of the metro train. During this, Alstom Company's head Shri Olivier, MD Shri Anil Saini were also present.
Bhopal, Indore Metros
Two metro corridors Orange and Blue Line are to be constructed in the Bhopal Metro Rail Project. Their total length is 30.95 km. The priority corridor of Orange Line is 7 km from Subhash Nagar to AIIMS.
A 31.76 kilometer long ring line is to be built in the Indore Metro Rail project. Its name has been given as Yellow Line. The priority corridor is 17.28 km from Gandhinagar to Radisson Chauraha.
