Madhya Pradesh: Kejriwal, Bhagwant Mann In Bhopal Today; AAP To Kick-start Its Poll Campaign; What Is Party's Strategy; How It Will Challenge Both Congress & BJP

Bhopal: Aam Aadmi Party convener and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann will address a public rally at Bhopal's BHEL Dussehra Maidan on Tuesday. With this the party will kick-start its election campaign in Madhya Pradesh.

A day earlier i.e. on Monday the party had launched its campaign in Rajasthan where it took out a massive Tiranga Yatra. Kejriwal claimed both the BJP and Congress had been looting the state and now the people wanted a change.

Triangular contest likely on many seats

So far the elections on most seats in MP used to be a direct contest between Congress and BJP. But this time the AAP is going to be make a strong presence. Many seats will see a triangular contest.

AAP organisation general secretary Sandeep Pathak, who is considered one of the main architects of AAP's strategy in Punjab and Gujarat, has visited Bhopal, Indore, Rewa, Gwalior and Jabalpur as part of preparations for Assembly election.

AAP is buoyed by its performance in civic body polls

The AAP recently announced it would contest all 230 Assembly seats in MP. The party believes it had performed quite well in the urban local body polls held in the state in July-August last year, where it claimed it had garnered 6.3 percent of the vote share.

AAP managed to win the mayor's post in Singrauli in the state's Vindhya region. Besdies, 52 AAP candidates won in the local body polls, while 135-140 candidates came second, according to party leaders. In panchayat polls, which are held without party symbols, the party claimed AAP-supported candidates won 10 posts of district panchayat, 23 of janpad, 119 sarpanches, and 250 panch.

Kejriwal is likely to make some populist announcements

Kejriwal is likely to make some populist announcements like cheap electricity, free quality education and health facilities to the poor. AAP has been repeatedly mentioning that Manish Sisodia has been thrown behind bars because he had ensured free education for the poor children. Kejriwal stressed this while addressing public meetings in Jaipur on Monday.

Party sources revealed about one lakh people across state were likely to attend the rally. AAP has planned to organize similar big rallies in all the divisional headquarters in the state.
