Madhya Pradesh: President Droupadi Murmu Will Open 7th International Dharma-Dhamma Conference In Bhopal Today

Bhopal: President Smt. Droupadi Murmu will inaugurate the 7th International Dharma-Dhamma Conference on Friday at 12:20 pm at Kushabhau Thakre Auditorium, Bhopal. Governor Mangubhai Patel, Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, Culture Minister Usha Thakur and Vice Chancellor of Sanchi University of Buddhist-Indic Studies Dr. Neerja Gupta will participate.

The conference, focused on the principle of humanism in the new era, will take place from March 3 to 5. More than 350 scholars from 15 countries are participating in this conference, which provides a platform for global views of Dharma-Dhamma. Bhutan, Mongolia, Sri Lanka, Indonesia, Thailand, Vietnam, Nepal, South Korea, Mauritius, Russia, Spain, France, America and Britain will participate in this.

25 scholars will address in 4 main sessions

In the three-day conference, 25 scholars will present their topics in 4 main sessions. Meanwhile, there will also be 15 parallel-sessions, in which 115 research papers will be read focusing on the theme of the conference, "Principle of Humanism in the New Era".

Unique ministerial session

Apart from the inaugural session on the first day, there will also be a unique ministerial session, in which ministers from 5 countries will discuss cultural harmony and various topics. The session will be attended by ministers from Bhutan, Sri Lanka, Indonesia, Nepal and India. 

In the keynote session, Swami Shri Govind Dev Giri Maharaj, Secretary of Ram Janmabhoomi Nyas, Prof. Kotapitiye Rahul Anushka Thero of Sri Lanka and Mahomukhopadhyay Shri Sadhu Bhadresh Das of Swaminarayan Shodh Sansthan Akshardham, among others, will express their views. 

This conference underlines the global impact of human values propounded from India. There is a lot of curiosity in western countries about the principles propounded by Indian culture and philosophy and Sanchi University is focused on research and study in this direction.

Cultural heritage of Madhya Pradesh will be presented

The priceless cultural heritage of Madhya Pradesh will be presented in the cultural programmes to be held during the conference. In this tribal dance and Gudum Baja of Dhulia tribe of Madhya Pradesh, which has gained fame in the country and abroad, will also be performed. Along with this, folk songs dedicated to Maa Narmada will also be presented.
