Manish Sisodia's CBI Remand Extended Till March 6: Decision On Bail Application Reserved Till March 10

New Delhi: The remand of Manish Sisodia, arrested in the Delhi liquor policy case, has been extended for two days. The Rouse Avenue Court on Saturday sent the former Deputy CM of Delhi to CBI custody till March 6. At the same time, the court will give its verdict on March 10 on the bail plea filed by Sisodia.

Today i.e. on Saturday, Sisodia was produced in Rouse Avenue Court. The CBI had sought his custody from the court for three days. Sisodia was arrested on 26 February. On February 27, the court sent him on CBI remand for five days. The period of remand came to an end today i.e. on 4th March.

Sisodia's argument – no valid reason to keep in custod

On Friday, Sisodia had filed a bail application in the lower court. In this petition, he wrote that he has cooperated in the CBI inquiry. He has come whenever he was called. He argued that there is no valid reason to keep him in custody now, as all the recovery has been done by the CBI.

SC had rejected Sisodia’s plea

Manish Sisodia challenged the arrest by CBI in the Supreme Court. For this, the Supreme Court reprimanded Sisodia and said that you should first go to the Delhi High Court. Also insisted that it is a wrong practice to directly approach the Supreme Court for bail.

Manish Sisodia was arrested last Sunday after nearly eight hours of questioning in connection with alleged corruption in the preparation and implementation of the now withdrawn liquor policy for 2021-22. On February 27, the court had sent Sisodia to CBI custody.
