Mumbai: Massive fire breaks out on sets of TV serial Ghum Hai Kisikey Pyaar Meiin, goods worth lakhs gutted

Mumbai: A massive fire broke out on the sets of television serial Ghum Hai Kisikey Pyaar Meiin in Mumbai’s Film City on Friday afternoon. The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation informed that the blaze erupted around 4:30 pm and no injuries have been reported so far.

According to a BMC officials, the fire started on the ground floor, in an area of 2,000 square feet in Goregaon Film City on the sets of the serial.

Goods worth lakhs gutted

As soon as the fire broke out on the set, there was chaos all around. Goods worth lakhs of serial sets have been gutted in this fire. The cause of the fire has not yet been ascertained. In this video surfaced on social media, people are seen running here and there and trying to extinguish the fire. Smoke is seen coming out.

According to the information, the fire on the set is spreading to many other sets nearby. Till now the fire has spread to the sets of TV serials 'Teri Meri Dooriyan' and 'Ajuni'. 

Action demanded against producer, production house and channel

Suresh Shyamlal Gupta, President of All India Cine Workers Association said an FIR would be lodged against the Managing Director of Film City.

Suresh Shyamlal Gupta has demanded an inquiry into the incident and registration of a case against the producer, production house and channel. He said, immediate resignation of the Managing Director of Film City should be taken, whose negligence is leading to large-scale shooting in Film City without fire safety and there were no security arrangements.
