Karnataka Election: Rahul Gandhi Announces Allowance For The Unemployed

Belagavi: Congress leader Rahul Gandhi held his first public rally in poll-bound Karnataka after his 'Bharat Jodo Yatra'. In it, he subtly addressed the ongoing tussle between top party leaders DK Shivakumar and Siddaramaiah in the state and announced allowance  for the unemployed in the state.

Cong does not belong to select few but to all

Targeting the central government, Gandhi said that this country does not belong to select few like Adani but belongs to everyone. He said that a select few who are friendly with the BJP are getting all the benefits due to which corruption is increasing in the country.

Gandhi called upon the Congress leaders of the state to fight unitedly against the BJP and expressed confidence of his party getting an absolute majority in the state. He said that all the Congress leaders will fight the upcoming assembly elections unitedly and Congress will get a huge majority in this election.

Allowance to unemployed youths

Announcing the fourth election guarantee in the state, Gandhi and Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge said, “Congress will provide unemployment allowance of Rs.3,000 per month to unemployed graduates and Rs.1,500 per month to diploma holders if party comes to power in the state.”

This is the fourth election guarantee that the Congress party has announced in the state, before it 200 units of free electricity to all households (Griha Jyoti), monthly assistance of Rs 2,000 to the head woman of each household (Griha Lakshmi) and 10 kg free rice to each member of BPL families (Anna Bhagya) were announced.

All govt posts will be filled

Rahul said all vacant government posts would be filled if his party was voted to power in the state.

Attacking the BJP government in Karnataka, Gandhi called it a '40 per cent commission government' and termed it the most corrupt government in the country.
