Rajasthan Politics: Factionalism in Congress Could Deepen As Pilot Supporter MLA Divya Maderna Opens Front Against Gehlot's Minister Dhariwal

Jaipur: Assembly elections are to be held in Rajasthan at the end of the year. The preparations for the ruling Congress have also intensified, but the factionalism and politics in the Congress have not ended yet. For the last two-two-and-a-half years, the state Congress has been in the headlines for the internal conflict in the party.

There were many such occasions when it seemed that like the neighboring state of Madhya Pradesh and South Karnataka, BJP's Operation Lotus could be successful here too.

Sachin Pilot was even called Jyotiraditya Scindia of Rajasthan, but the Congress saved Gehlot's government by overcoming these difficulties. But the differences between the Sachin Pilot and Ashok Gehlot factions still remain the same.

Cong MLA Divya Maderna at loggerheads with her own govt

Amidst the ongoing war of supremacy between the camps of Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot and former Deputy CM Sachin Pilot, Congress MLA Divya Maderna seems to be at loggerheads with her own government instead of the Opposition. MLA Maderna has opened a front against senior cabinet minister Shanti Dhariwal in the Gehlot government.

MLA of Sachin Pilot group and firebrand Congress leader Divya Maderna is Congress MLA from Jodhpur's Osian assembly seat. Divya Maderna is known for her domineering style and outspokenness. This time also she gave strict warning to CM and Minister Dhariwal. She expressed her displeasure over non construction of roads in her area.

Divya accuses Dhariwal of stalling work in her area

In fact, the roads in the assembly constituency of pro-Pilot MLA Divya Maderna have become dilapidated. 44 new roads were proposed in her area, but were rejected. Divya has accused cabinet minister Shanti Dhariwal of stalling the development work in Osian assembly constituency.

Maderna said that not a single new road was allowed to be constructed in her constituency Osian in the last four years. 44 new roads were to be constructed in her area, but cabinet minister Shanti Dhariwal canceled these roads to take political revenge from her.

Divya said that she was speaking in favor of veeranganas and women. That's why the proposed development works in her area have been canceled within two days.

Divya's warning to the Gehlot govt

Divya Maderna said that Dhariwal who challenges the high command, how can he remain minister. Divya also talked about the insult of veeranganas Manju Jat and Sundari Devi. She also targeted Minister Dhariwal by releasing a video on Twitter regarding this.

Maderna family has old political enmity with Gehlot

Divya Maderna, who won the assembly elections for the first time in 2018, is recognized as a flamboyant and young Jat leader of the Rajasthan Congress. Divya's grandfather Parasram Maderna once used to have great influence in the politics of Rajasthan.

In the year 1998, he also emerged as a strong contender for the Chief Ministership. But then Ashok Gehlot, who is considered a magician, grabbed this opportunity from him. At that time Parasram Maderna was made the Speaker of the Assembly.

Since then, political enmity had started between the Maderna family and Ashok Gehlot. On the other hand, Mahipal Maderna, son of Parasram Maderna, won the election in 2008 and also became a cabinet minister in the Ashok Gehlot government.

But even at that time Mahipal had to resign due to the famous Bhanwari Devi incident. Not only this, he was also arrested by the CBI. After this he passed away on 17 October 2021. It is believed that Mahipal was also a strong contender for the post of CM at one time.

Entry into politics to avenge mother's defeat

In the 2013 assembly elections, Mahipal's wife and Divya's mother Leela Maderna contested from the Osian seat, but due to political factionalism, she had to face defeat at the hands of the BJP in her own bastion. After this, to avenge her mother's defeat, Divya Maderna entered electoral politics. In the 2018 assembly elections, she wrested back the Osian seat from the BJP and became an MLA for the first time. Divya's close friends tell that she is preparing for the Lok Sabha elections to be held in 2024.
