Jaipur/Ahmedabad: Gujarat and Rajasthan witnessed excess rainfall in January 2023. During February, the weather was almost dry over these states. On February 28, parts of Rajasthan recorded thunderstorm and isolated hailstorm.
Pre monsoon activities are going to commence
According to Skymet Weather, pre monsoon activities are going to commence over parts of Rajasthan and Gujarat soon. There are chances of thunderstorm associated with isolated light rain from March 4th. Spread of rain and thunderstorm may increase on March 5th and 6th.
South and Southeastern districts of Rajasthan will be affected. These weather activities will not be widespread and will remain patchy.
Chances of isolated heat wave
Skymet does not expect any significant change in temperature profile of these states due to rain and thunderstorm. Maximum temperature of South Rajasthan and most parts of Gujarat will be between 36 and 38 degrees well above normal.
First half of March may not witness heat wave conditions over these states but there are chances of isolated heat wave during second half of the month.
