Digvijaya Singh Eyes MP's Bundelkhand Region, How Successful Will Be Congress In Making A Dent In BJP's Stronghold

Bhopal: About 8 months are now left for the assembly elections in Madhya Pradesh. In order to save power, where the BJP is trying its best publicizing the schemes of its government, the Congress has also started exerting its full force to return to power.

Meanwhile, former Chief Minister of the state and senior Congress leader Digvijaya Singh, who helped Congress return to power in the state in 2018 state after undertaking marathon Narmada Yatra, has become active again.

Singh has been visiting every village of Madhya Pradesh for the last several days. Digvijaya Singh is moving ahead with a plan to energize the Congress workers ahead of the Madhya Pradesh assembly elections. On Monday, he is starting the Bundelkhar mission of the Congress.

Preparing to make a dent in BJP's stronghold

Digvijaya Singh is going on a five-day tour of this region. Budelkhand is considered to be the stronghold of BJP. The Congress has made a strategy to snatch it from ruling party.

Tour will start from Vidisha where he will hold a meeting with party officials and workers. Before the 2018 assembly elections, Digvijaya Singh organized Pangat Me Sangat during Narmada Parikrama. He chanted the mantra of unity by having dinner with the party officials and workers. A similar strategy has been made again.

During his five-day tour of Budelkhand, Digvijay Singh will visit 10 assembly seats in 3 districts. During this, he will also hold meetings with the Mandal-Sector functionaries. In the meetings, he will prepare the strategy for the Mandal sectors for the next three months. Digvijaya Singh will also meet the party workers who are angry with the party in a bid to strengthen the Congress.

Digvijaya Singh will reach Shamshabad, Kurwai in Vidisha on Monday and meet party workers.

Congress got 10 seats in 2018

Bundelkhand region of Madhya Pradesh consists of 26 assembly seats. Earlier the performance of Congress in the last 2018 election was okay. Here out of 26, the Congress captured 10 seats, while the BJP won 14 seats. Two seats went to others from Bundelkhand zone.

However, after the subsequent change of power, the BJP got 17 seats in the by-elections. Congress could save 8 seats. While one seat is still in BSP's account. Political analysts say that BJP's hold on 10 out of 17 seats has weakened. On the other hand, if we talk about Congress, it can prove to be weak on 8. While there is a possibility of equal contest on two seats.

Congress has a strong hold on 3 of the existing seats. But it may have to face resentment on two seats. While Congress and BJP are equally strong on two seats,

Will brainstorm with workers

This is the reason why Digvijay Singh is making further strategy by focusing on these seats. He will focus on Bina and Khurai assembly seats in Sagar district on April 11 after Vidisha.

So the next day, on April 12, he will go to Surkhi and Sagar. On April 13, Digvijaya will be on a tour of Narayawali and Rahli assembly constituencies.

On April 14, Digvijaya Singh will hold a meeting with party officials and workers in Hata and Patharia assembly constituencies of Damoh district. He will establish direct communication with Congress Mandal-Sector presidents and workers of those assemblies.
