BHOPAL: In the run up to the Madhya Pradesh Assembly Elections-2023, the BJP fears that due to disgruntled leaders and the possibility of betrayal by them, its victory chariot may stop.
Recently, in the report on 14 leaders received by the central leadership, it has been said that there are many leaders who are calm at the moment, but if they continue to be unhappy with the party, then they can work against the party interest during the elections.
High risk of betrayal on these seats
According to the report, there is a high risk of betrayal on those seats from where Congress MLAs and ministers defected and joined BJP and then won on BJP ticket. This is the reason why BJP is trying for the return of its old and rebel leaders.
Siddharth Malaiya has returned to the party after OBC leader Pritam Lodhi. Siddharth, son of former minister Jayant Malaiya, who had a strong hold in Damoh, was enthusiastically welcomed back. Pritam Lodhi's homecoming was done in the presence of National President JP Nadda to keep the OBC vote bank intact in the area under the influence of Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia.
Siddharth's political exile has been ended within 13 months and his suspension has been withdrawn. The party could not keep Pritam out even for 6 months, although both the leaders had openly revolted.
Party does not want to repeat mistake of 2018
BJP sources say that the party does not want to repeat the mistake of 2018. Before the assembly elections, BJP wants to convert its every weakness into strength. This is the reason why those who have left the party or those who were shown the way out by the party, efforts are on to bring them back home.
During his stay in Bhopal last month, National President JP Nadda said in the meeting of the core group that it is better to trust the worker.
Party will decide whether I will contest: Siddharth
After returning to BJP, Siddharth Malaiya said that I have been suspended for 13 months. That was a different time. Now I have been assured by the party that I will be given work. On the matter of contesting the assembly elections, he said that it will be decided by the party. It is up to the party to decide.
It was Rahul Lodhi, who had accused Malaiya of betrayal and action was taken on his complaint. On Malaiya's return, Rahul Lodhi said that the decision to expel Siddharth was taken by the party and now the decision to bring him back was taken by the core committee.
Political situation has changed: Rahul Lodhi
Rahul said- Look, 2 years ago there were different circumstances and now political situation have changed. It is a matter of time. I was with the party's decision at that time as well and I am still today.
Regarding contesting the next election, he said that I am spending most of my time with the people of the area. It is for the party to decide whether I will get the ticket or not, but I will definitely stake claim.
Asked what will be your stand if the party gives ticket to Jayant Malaiya or his son Siddharth? In response to this he said how it can be decided now. There is still more than 6 months left for the elections, when the time comes, a decision will be taken. Rahul Lodhi is the chairman of MP Warehousing and Logistics Corporation.
