Rajasthan: Every Possible Effort To Be Made For The Conservation And Promotion Of National Bird Peacock In Jaipur

 

Jaipur: National bird peacock is one of the protected birds, therefore every possible effort should be made for conservation and promotion of peacocks in Jaipur district. Jaipur Collector said this in a meeting.

 

He said Effective action should be taken against poachers, along with this, public awareness campaigns should be conducted in peacock dominated areas so that peacocks get a safe environment as well as the number of peacocks increase. This is to say of District Collector Mr. Prakash Rajpurohit.

 

On Wednesday, a meeting of District Peacock Conservation Committee, District Environment Committee, District Eco-Tourism Committee and Sambhar Lake Vigilance Committee was organized in Collectorate Auditorium. 

 

In the meeting, the collector also inaugurated the signature campaign to be organized under the joint aegis of the District Peacock Conservation Committee and the World Organization under the National Bird Conservation Project. 

 

Addressing the meeting, the collector said that for improving the air quality in Jaipur city, it should be ensured that the standards set by the National Green Tribunal are followed.
 

The Collector directed the officers for better implementation of sapling distribution undertaken by the local bodies and rural development institutions to increase the tree cover outside the forest area.

In the meeting, Additional District Collector (I) Dinesh Kumar Sharma, representative of Animal Welfare Board of India Manoj Saxena, Deputy Conservator of Forests Kapil Chandrawal, Deputy Conservator of Forests (Jaipur, North) Manful Vishnoi and officers of other concerned departments including Forest Department were present.
