Karnataka Election-2023: What Promises BJP Has Made In Its Manifesto Praja Dhvani Besides Uniform Civil Code

Bengaluru: The BJP on Monday released its manifesto 'Praja Dhvani' for the Karnataka assembly elections-2023 to be held on May 10. Party President JP Nadda released it in Bengaluru. CM Basavaraj Bommai and BS Yediyurappa were also present in the programme.

In the manifesto, the party has promised Uniform Civil Code. Uniform Civil Code (UCC) means - Uniform law for every citizen of India, irrespective of religion or caste.

According to reports, in whichever state the UCC is implemented, the same law will be applicable for all religions in matters of marriage, divorce, adoption, inheritance, distribution of land and property.

3 Free Gas Cylinders To BPL Families; Nandini milk, Sri Anna under Poshana scheme

Along with this, it has also been promised to give 3 cooking gas cylinders free of cost to BPL families, one each during the months of Yugadi, Ganesh Chaturthi and Deepavali and to launch the ‘Poshana’ scheme through which every BPL household will be provided with half litre Nandini milk every day and 5 kg Sri Anna - siri dhanya through monthly ration kits.

The promise to provide Nandini Milk is also seen as an attempt to refute the allegations that the BJP government was facilitating Amul Milk's entry in the state, which was seen as highly detrimental for local Nandini brand on which state farmers largely depend.
