Madhya Pradesh: Bid To Woo Young Voters In Election Year, One Lakh Youths Will Get Stipend During Job-oriented Training, See Details


Bhopal: In the election year, the gifts are raining on the people of Madhya Pradesh. After Ladli Bahna Yojana, the State Cabinet has approved the Sikho-Kamao Yojana in a special meeting to woo young voters. The state government knows unemployment is a big issue and must be addressed in order to win support of youngsters. 

A new scheme is being implemented in the state to teach skills to the youth for employment. The youth will also get paid along with learning the skills. Companies and service sector will be linked for skill training.

CM Shivraj has said unemployment allowance is redundant. The new scheme will give wings to the youth by enhancing their capacity, so that they can fly high in the open sky and they get new opportunities for employment, progress and development. The scheme was approved by the state cabinet in a special meeting.
 

Youth will begin working from Aug 1


Under the scheme, the registration of establishments giving training to youth will start from June 7 and the registration of youth willing to learn work will start from June 15 and the placement will start from July 15. From July 31, the contract will be processed between the establishment that gives the training and the state government. The youth will start working from August 1.
 

Kaushal Kamai Yojana renamed Sikho-Kamao


CM Chouhan addressed the meeting of the Cabinet held at the office building Samatva. The scheme for the youth was presented in the meeting and the Council of Ministers provided the approval to it. It was decided in the meeting that the name of Mukhya Mantri Kaushal Kamai Yojana will be 'Mukhya Mantri Sikho-Kamao Yojana' (Chief Minister Learn-Earn Scheme). 

Youths of 18 to 29 years will be eligible


Under the scheme, at least one lakh youths will be provided training in establishments. Local residents of Madhya Pradesh, 18 to 29 years old youth, whose educational qualification is 12th or ITI or higher, will be eligible in the scheme. 

 

After the training, the State Council for Vocational Training (SCVT) certificate will be given by the Madhya Pradesh State Skill Development and Employment Generation Board (MPSSDEGB). The scheme will provide stipend to the youths along with training, skill upgradation will boost their employment opportunities and pave way for a better way of earning.

Stipend will be Rs 8 to 10,000


It was told in the presentation that prestigious industrial and private institutions of the country and the state will be connected with the scheme. Under the scheme, 12th passed trainees will be given 8 thousand rupees, ITI passed 8 thousand 500 rupees, diploma passed 9 thousand rupees and graduate passed or higher educational qualification will be given 10 thousand rupees per month stipend. The concerned establishment will have to deposit 25 percent of the prescribed minimum stipend in the bank account of the trainee. 

703 work areas have been identified for training in the scheme. The scheme will provide industry-oriented training to the trainees, proficiency in latest technology and processes, thereby enhancing their regular employability. Workshops will be held in Pune, Bengaluru and Noida to link key establishments with the scheme.
