NCP Chief Sharad Pawar Withdraws Resignation



Mumbai: Sharad Pawar on Friday announced his decision to withdraw his resignation from the post of Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) President. Pawar said he has took back his resignation since party workers were unhappy with his decision.


Earlier it was said that a decision on who will lead the Nationalist Congress Party next after 82-year-old Sharad Pawar's resignation could be taken at a meeting of the committee of the NCP to be held from 11 am today on Friday.


The committee was set up by Sharad Pawar to choose his successor. It includes Ajit Pawar, Supriya Sule, former Union leader Parful Patel and Bhujbal.


However, the constitution of panel and the meeting became purposeless as Sharad Pawar said he would take back his resignation. More details are awaited.
