New Delhi: In support of the wrestlers protesting against Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) President Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh, Khap Panchayat leaders of Uttar Pradesh, Haryana and Punjab are meeting here at Jantar Mantar to plan further strategy. The demonstration of wrestlers at Jantar Mantar has now got the support of Kisan Sangh.
Samyukt Kisan Morcha (SKM) has announced to give support to farmers. SKM leader Rakesh Tikait, on reaching Jantar Mantar on Sunday, said that the leaders of Khaps will hold a meeting here and make plan. He said, “Brijbhushan Sharan Singh should be arrested in this case. Further strategy and decisions will be taken after the meeting of leaders of khap panchayats."
Tikait along with his supporters has reached Jantar Mantar. A jattha of women farmers has also reached to express solidarity with wrestlers.
In view of Khap panchayats holding panchayats in Delhi, elaborate security arrangements have been made at all the borders with the capital and a large number of police forces have been deployed.
Wrestler Vinesh Phogat, sitting on the dharna, has appealed to take out a candle march in support of the players. He said, “Today at seven in the evening, there is an appeal to the entire countrymen to take out a candle march across the country in this fight for justice for the daughters of India."
The Samyukt Kisan Morcha had on Saturday announced a nationwide agitation in support of the wrestlers who have been protesting at Jantar Mantar against Wrestling Federation of India chief Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh.
