Rhythm Sangwan Breaks Record Of Best Score In Shooting World Cup

Baku: Indian shooter Rhythm Sangwan on Saturday broke the 29-year-old record for the best score in the women's 25m pistol event. She recorded 595 in the qualification round at the ISSF World Cup in Baku, Azerbaijan, on Saturday.

Sangwan set this record by surpassing the previous best score of 594 set by Diana Egorova of Bulgaria in 1994. Luna Tao of China equaled this score in 2002 and Doreen Wennekamp of Germany in 2023.

Sangwan, however, finished eighth in the final with an overall score of 10. Sangwan missed all five of her shots in the first series, after which she struggled to come back in the rest of the match.

Earlier, Sangwan had won a bronze medal in the 10m air pistol event at the World Cup.
